It publishes papers in ecology across all taxa and at all levels of biological organisation, but emphasises studies on physiological ecology, evolutionary ecology, mechanistic community ecology, ecological functional genomics, and ecosystem function. Papers may describe experimental, theoretical, or observational studies on terrestrial, fresh-water or marine systems.
