Biotropica is a highly regarded source of original research on the ecology and conservation of tropical ecosystems and on the evolution, behavior, and ecology of tropical organisms. Papers concern any aspect of tropical biology and conservation.
Articles must be of general interest to the global community of tropical biologists, with contents of lasting value and significance. Preference will be given to papers devoted to the presentation and discussion of original research and ideas or to those papers containing significant review, synthetic, and interpretive qualities.
Published on behalf of the Association of Tropical Biology and Conservation, the journal's Special Issues and Special Sections quickly become indispensable references for researchers in the field.

Types of papers include: Natural History Field Notes (up to 2000 words with two figures, tables or other graphics).
