The Australian Journal of Botany is an international journal for publication of original research in plant science. We seek papers of broad interest with relevance to Southern Hemisphere ecosystems. Our scope encompasses all approaches to understanding plant biology.

Papers of relevance to Southern Hemisphere ecosystems will be considered for publication in the Journal in the fields of ecology and ecophysiology; conservation biology and biodiversity; forest biology and management; cell biology and tissue culture; paleobotany; reproductive biology and genetics; mycology and pathology; and structure and development. Review articles will also be considered.

Australian Journal of Botany does not publish the results of biological surveys if the main body of the results is only the results of a biological survey. However, the Journal will publish papers that present survey data in comparative and ecological contexts.
