Thematic classification scheme

The classification scheme is subdivided into fields (displayed on the home page), themes and sub-themes, in sciences applied to agriculture. It is based on the FAO Agris/Caris classification.

Journals are indexed with themes and sub-themes, book publishers are indexed with themes. This information is displayed in the records of journals and book publishers which may have several themes or sub-themes.

If a journal or book publisher covers a large majority of themes or sub-themes, it is assigned the theme or subtheme 'Multidisciplinary'.

  • For journals : you can search by theme and sub-theme from the "Find a journal" menu. A drop-down menu allows you to view the classification scheme.

  • For books publishers : you can search by field and theme from the "Find a book publisher" menu. A drop-down menu allows you to view the classification plan. After selecting fields or themes that you can combine with the operators (OR / AND), you can refine your search with other criteria.
