Limnology and Oceanography

Limnology and Oceanography publishes original research articles, reviews, and comments about all aspects of limnology and oceanography. The journal's unifying theme is the understanding of aquatic systems. Submissions are judged on their originality and intellectual contribution to the fields of limnology and oceanography. Site-specific studies, laboratory experiments, and modeling exercises will be considered only to the extent they contribute to a broader understanding of aquatic sciences.
While L&O does not adhere to strict page limits, long or short, papers that are designed in short-format (i.e., concise with limited use of visuals) communications of innovative and broadly appealing research in aquatic science should be submitted to the companion journal Limnology and Oceanography: Letters.
Papers that focus on new measurement equipment and techniques or on evaluations and comparisons of existing methods should be directed to the companion journal Limnology and Oceanography: Methods.
