Topics include biology and control of insects, ticks, mites and other arthropods of medical and veterinary importance. The principal interests are haematophagous insects and other pests, but all aspects of synanthropic and zoophilic arthropod biology are considered.
Main areas: epidemiology and transmission of vector-borne pathogens
changes in vector distribution that have impact on the pathogen transmission
arthropod behaviour and ecology
novel, field evaluated, approaches to biological and chemical control methods
host arthropod interactions.
Technical reports of insecticide trials are not published unless they present the results of large-scale field trials. Insect and parasite distribution reports must be of more than local interest.
