Published continuously since 1904, The Journal of Infectious Diseases (JID) is the premier global journal for original research on infectious diseases : microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, and related disciplines, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases; the microbes that cause them; and disorders of host immune responses.
JID is an official publication of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Types of papers include : Brief Reports present complete studies that are narrower in scope than those described in research articles or that represent new developments,(<2000 words). ); Perspectives are brief (<1500 words) individual viewpoints on controversial topics in infectious diseases; Reviews that are research oriented (<3500 words).
